IFMA Hudson Valley Chapter

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday May 18th
We will take a tour and have some wonderful tasting opportunities at Stone Barns Center in Potanico Hills NY
Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture is on a mission to create a healthy and sustainable food system that benefits us all. On 80 acres just 25 miles north of New York City, Stone Barns Center operates a highly diversified, four-season farm and an education center that hosts over a hundred thousand visitors each year. As a nonprofit, StoneBarns Center works to:

  • Experiment with and improve sustainable farming practices.
  • Train beginning farmers in resilient, regenerative farming techniques.
  • Help children discover the sources of their food while preparing them to steward the land that provides it.
  • Increase public awareness of healthy, seasonal and sustainable food.

Stone Barns Center is located on a historic property that includes Norman-style stone barns built in the 1930’s as the Rockefeller family’s dairy farm. The interiors of the barns have since been renovated and turned into offices, classrooms, meeting and event spaces and the kitchen and dining room of Stone Barns Center’s restaurant partner, Blue Hill at Stone Barns.
Hear from Stone Barns Center’s staff and facilities team about this unique and diverse organization and facility.

The meeting will start at 4:30PM

Mamaroneck Self Storage

We enjoyed a tour of Mamaroneck Self Storage in March, learing about their energy saving initiatives in their operation and in their construction.
Sometimes the behind the scenes tours are the best.  You can learn a lot at every IFMA-WCHV meeting

Steiner Sports meeting photos

We had a great tour and meeting at Steiner Sports in New Rochelle.
Our thanks to our Hosts at Steiner for the informative visit.
Lots of great sports memorabilia.
